So, like it or not, I've decided to go with a new format for my blog. The previous format has been a series of weekly "rants" about Product Management and User Experience Design. I hope they're full of valuable insights and interesting ideas. But I also think they're stale. The format going forward will hopefull be utilize a more interactive and (hopefully) engaging structure.
Every other week, I'll toss out a new question intended to challenge the status quo. I'll aim to get a few followers to chime in with their thoughts. Then, on the alternate weeks, I'll offer my "rant" on the topic.
The spirit of the blog remains the stame. From day one, the blog's title has been "PM Rant: Straight talk about Product Management. Plenty of opinions and NO apologies." And I'm sticking with it.
Just like before, the topics will range from broad to narrow; and, just like before, they'll be aimed at offering some new insight... plus, hopefully create a little (mostly) healthy controversy along the way. Unlike before, my answers will be shorter and sweeter.
For those following my blog, I have three requests. Yeah, I know, it's a lot.
- Please accept my apology in advance. I'm going to take vacation the next two weeks, so the next blog post won't be until 10/17/2011. (I've heard a rumor that Vermont is nice in the fall, and could use a little love following hurricane Irene.)
- Please do me the favor of helping kick this new format off successfully by providing comments based on your answers to whatever questions are posed. The more collective content, the more stirring of the pot, the more learning, the better.
- Don't be a wimp. Don't hesitate to say something you're not 100% sure is right or might not be popular with other readers, or even me. Who knows? Maybe there are others out there who strongly agree with you. Or better yet, ones who disagree and can coherently explain why. I say, "to hell with conventional wisdom!"
Rant on, my friends.
Maine is nice in the fall too. Nice LL Bean store among the other outlet stores in Freeport.

In this way, for example it or not, I've chosen to run with a revamped organize for my website. The past configuration has been a progression of one week after the next "rages" about Product Management and User Experience Design. I trust they're full of valuable bits of knowledge and fascinating brainstorms. Be that as it may I moreover think they're stale. The arrangement going advance will hopefull be use a more intuitive and (confidently) occupying structure.
